| There has been a Church building on the present site since Norman times, but the original, wooden building was destroyed by fire and so the present Church was built by Thomas Becke, in the Georgian period and was first used for worship on Trinity Sunday 1753. |

When the present Church was built, Cherry Willingham was a very small village, and so the capacity of the Church is comparatively small - 80 people can be seated comfortably. The interior of the Church is much in keeping with its Georgian origins - a Georgian Reredos, hangs behind the sanctuary area, the pews are painted, the windows are made of large, clear glass, which ensure the Church is wonderfully light even on the dimmest of days. St. Peter and St. Paul's though, is more than a fine Georgian building. It is a worshipping community of people who meet on Sundays and throughout the week and serve God and the village community in a variety of ways. |
