| Going Solo……. Testimony of a single parent |
| My “going solo” began in 1989…….It was not a good
year, my marriage broke up, my father died and my mothers house was burgled
all in the same year!! The confusing part was that I had recently become
a Christian and here I was, the two most important men in my life gone,..
what was going on? All that I was able to hold onto was that God knew my
future and knew I would not get through the coming time without him. It
was during this time that I realized how important friendships are, way
above all earthly possessions however hard you have worked for them. Life as a Christian can be hard….. Life is hard, and being a single parent immensely lonely at times and the fear of the future and all its responsibilities can be overwhelming. However, I have found God’s love, faithfulness and provision to have never left me in need. I have been greatly blessed and supported by friends over the years as God has placed me in His family. As I have been restored to my Heavenly Father through His son Jesus, so my life has been restored and I now know I am loved beyond compare… unconditionally. SOLO as a group
The group has a strong Christian foundation again born out of my own experience of God’s love and grace working in my life and the healing and restoration that I have received. Being a Christian is not a requirement to belonging to the group as all are welcome. We meet on the last Friday of each month and so far we have enjoyed ….pottery
painting, meals out, card making, walks, film nights and theatre evenings. |
